The default Calendar app installed on iOS devices does not always refresh as frequently as you would like and the way to manually update it is not entirely obvious.

How to refresh Calendars in iOS

• Open the Calendar app on your iOS device.
• Then tap on the Calendars button at the bottom.
• This will display a list of the calendars setup on your device.
• Tap, drag down on the list and release to refresh.
• You should see a circular spinning icon at the top for a few seconds while your calendars update.
• That’s it! Once finished click the Done button in the top right and check your calendars have updated.

How to refresh Contacts in iOS

• Open the Contacts app on your iOS device.
• Tap Groups in the upper left corner. 
• Swipe down on the list to refresh your contacts. 
• You should see a circular spinning icon at the top for a few seconds while your contacts update.
• That’s it! Once finished click the Done button in the top right and check your contacts have updated.
