AppleCare+ now available. Do I need it?

Apple has upgraded AppleCare for Mac to AppleCare+ in Australia but what is it? AppleCare is Apple's extended warranty which also includes 24/7 priority support but do you need it? 

AppleCare+ includes all the feature of AppleCare but also 2 accidental damage repairs subject to service fees ($149 or for screen or external enclosure damage, or $429 for any other damage).

The costs for AppleCare+ vary by Mac model and must be purchased within 60 days of your Mac purchase.

Apple is bound by Australian consumer law and will effectively provide 2 years of warranty coverage after it's initial included 1 year warranty. Eligible parts include the display, battery, SSD or hard drive, RAM, logic boards, GPU, internal cables, power supply, and other electronic components, so virtually every aspect of a Mac is covered.
