Apple Adds an Intelligent Assistant to Pages, Numbers & Keynote
Apple has added a beta AI helper to Pages, Numbers and Keynote for Apple Creator Studio subscribers. See what it does, who gets it and what it costs.

Apple has updated Pages, Numbers and Keynote with a new beta feature called Intelligent Assistant. It is an AI helper that works inside the document, spreadsheet or presentation you have open, and it is only available to Apple Creator Studio subscribers.
What it does
In Pages, it can start a first draft, then help you edit, organise and polish your writing. You can ask it to draft a section, change the tone, or create images and shapes from a plain-language description.
In Numbers, it helps you build formulas, create tables, suggest charts and make sense of your data, all by describing what you want.
In Keynote, it can help build and refine slides, add animations, write presenter notes, and create images and shapes.
In all three apps it can also search the web for information on a topic and add it to your file, walk you through advanced features, and suggest things to try.
Who gets it
Intelligent Assistant is a beta feature for Apple Creator Studio subscribers. On iPhone it needs iOS 27 or later, and for now it works in US English only, so if your device is set to English (Australia) you may not see it yet.
Pages, Numbers and Keynote stay free apps. Apple Creator Studio costs A$19.99 per month1 or A$199 per year1, and a subscription can be shared with up to five other people through Family Sharing. Subscribers also get new templates and themes, and curated videos in the Content Hub.
What else is new
For everyone, the update includes bug fixes and performance improvements. Keynote can now import and export presentations in a new Interchange Format, an open file format that should make Keynote files easier to edit in other apps.
The update also adds support for iPhone Duo, even though it is not listed in Apple’s release notes. Our iPhone Duo guide covers the phone itself. The three apps were briefly missing from the App Store after the update and have since returned.
Is it worth paying for?
If you already subscribe to Apple Creator Studio for Final Cut Pro or Logic Pro, this is a free extra and worth trying on a draft. If writing or spreadsheet help is your only reason, weigh A$19.99 per month1 against what you already pay for.
A business that works in Word, Excel and PowerPoint will not find a reason to switch here. Our guide to Pages, Numbers and Keynote compared with Microsoft 365 explains where Apple’s apps fit, and Apple Creator Studio vs Adobe Creative Cloud compares the subscription with Adobe’s.
Use any AI helper with care. Check what it writes before you send it, check every formula before you rely on it, and keep confidential client information out of AI tools until you know how they handle it. Our guide to which AI tools are safe for work explains what to look for.
