Choosing the right Office licence for you

Microsoft offers two genuinely different options, a one-off purchase of Office, or a Microsoft 365 subscription. For a single home user, the one-off purchase is often the better value option since you’re not paying an ongoing fee. For families sharing devices, Microsoft 365 usually makes more sense, since it covers multiple people and devices under one subscription and includes 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage per person.

Some Microsoft 365 plans also include Microsoft 365 Copilot, bringing AI assistance into Word, Excel, Outlook and other apps, so it’s worth checking whether your plan already has it before assuming you need something extra. We can talk through which option actually suits your situation rather than just recommending whichever one is easiest to sell.
