Barely noticed with the recent announcement of the new iPad and other Education announcements was the quiet release if information about a new web-based business management platform to deploy and manage iOS, macOS, and tvOS devices; Apple Business Manager.
What is Apple Business Manager?
Apple Business Manager is a web-based portal for IT administrators to deploy iOS, macOS, and tvOS devices all from one place. You can configure device settings, create accounts for all your managers, and buy and distribute apps and books.
If you’re already enrolled in the Device Enrollment Program (DEP) or the Volume Purchase Program (VPP), you may be able to upgrade your existing programs to Apple Business Manager, bringing together everything needed to deploy iOS devices, Mac computers, and Apple TV.
This is likely Apple's new service teased in the announced discontinuation of macOS Server features and builds on their Apple School Manager tool which offer similar features.
When will it launch?
It is currently in beta at Apple and will launch around June 2018.
